PROGRAM:

1. day …BELGRADE

Arrival to airport ‘’Nikola Tesla’’. Transfer to hotel. Panoramic city tour: Republic Square where are situated National Museum of Serbia, National Theatre, Terazije Square, Hotel Moscow, Parliament, City Hall, St. Marco’s Church, Tashmajdan park, Slavija Square, St. Sava Chatedral, one of the biggest orthodox temples in the world. After visit St. Sava Chaterdal, tour continues to ’’House of Flowers’’, grave of long standing president of former Republic of Yugoslavia – Josip Broz Tito. Accommodation in hotel. Free time. Dinner at hotel. Overnight.

2. day BELGRADE – MUSEUM NIKOLA TESLA

Breakfast at hotel. Walking city tour with local guide: the Belgrade fortress Kalemegdan, the mouth of the two largest rivers in Serbia – the Sava in the Danube, the military outdoor museum, the monument to Pobednik – the most recognizable symbol of Belgrade, the tour continues Knez Mihailova street – the pedestrian zone and the most famous street of the city , to the Cathedral church dedicated to Archangel Michael, the Patriarchate, the konak of the princess Ljubica, Kosanchic venac , the Republic Square. After that, you will visit Nikola Tesla Museum. The museum has a permanent exhibition, and from one part it is dedicated to the life and work of Nikola Tesla, and from the second presents the development of the science of electricity and magnetism. The most interesting part is with authentic documentation and working models of Tesla’s inventions. Leisure time for individual activities. In the afternoon, going to the optional excursion – boat tour on Sava and Danube river. The Cruise begins in the heart of the city, at the place where two major European rivers The Sava and The Danube, merge. Lightning from Belgrade Fortress at Kalemegdan, Belgrade Cathedral and numerous bridges, adds a touch of mystique to this voyage. Sights in your horizon tell the history of the city, completing this unique experience of enjoyment in sightseeing, socializing and pleasant atmosphere. You will pass by the Old City, Belgrade Fair, Ada Ciganlija, and “Big War Island”… Back to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight.

3. day BELGRADE – TOPOLA – OPLENAC – BELGRADE

Breakfast at hotel. Driving to Oplenac Hill and town of Topola in  the heart of Serbian central region – Shumadija. Only 80 km far from Belgrade, a beautiful town of Topola is situated. Although a small town, it has a lot of Serbian national heritage. Topola was the first Serbian capital after 500 years of Ottoman occupation, and is a symbol of Serbian Royal family Karadjordjevic. It was the home of Serbian royal family Karadjordjevic, because the founder of lineage, Karadjordje built his home on the Oplenac hill, which is in the center of Topola town. The tour contains a visit to the memory complex, the Saint George Church, Mausoleum of Karadjordjevic Dynasty and the house of the royal family. This area is known for the world famous wine production. Free time until departure for Belgrade. Overnight.

4. day BELGRADE – MONASTERY KRUSHEDOL – SREMSKI KARLOVCI – NOVI SAD – BELGRADE

Breakfast at hotel. Departure to Frushka Gora mountain and visit to the XVII century Krushedol orthodox monaster. Departure to Sremski Karlovci, a charming baroque town known to be spiritual and cultural center of Serbs during Austria – Hungary reign. Degustation of Bernet wine and honey in the city’s oldest wine cellar. After this visit tour continues to Novi Sad. First stop will be Petrovaradin fortress from late 17th century, one of the most impressive symbols of Novi Sad, situated on the bank of Danube river. Due to its prominent location and size it is often referred to as ’’The Gibraltar of Danube’’ from whose viewpoint you can witness magnificent scenery of Novi Sad and Frushka Gora mountain. Lunch at Perovaradin fortress. Next stop will be Novi Sad – ’’Serbian Athens“, center of Serbian Baroque intelectual elite. Walking tour: Dunavska (Danube) and Zmaj Jovina street, the main walking zones of the city, City Hall, Freedom Square, The Name of Mary Church, Katolichka (Catholic) porta, the house of Mileva Einstein – the wife of Albert Einstein, The Synagogue in Jevrejska street, Matica Srpska – the oldest cultural institution of Serbia, and the city beach Shtrand. Free time until departure for Belgrade. Overnight.

5. day BEOGRAD – SUBOTICA – VINARIJA ZVONKO BOGDAN – PALIĆ – BEOGRAD

Breakfast at hotel. Departure to Subotica. On arrival panoramic and walking sightseeing tour of Subotica: Freedom Square, surrounded by parks and foundations, City Hall, the biggest and the most beautiful Vojvodina buildings and a typical example of Hungarian Secession, National Theater City Library, Serbian Orthodox Church of Holy Ascension, Subotica’s Synagogue, City Museum, Franciscan Monastery and Church and Saint Teresa of Avila Cathedral. Driving to Palich lake, that gave a name to the whole region. In the past, in this area there was a Pannonian Sea. Wine growing tradition here is more than 2 millennia, sandy terrain (this is why wines produced here are called ’’sand wines“) and mild climate create conditions for growing Cabenet Franc, Merlot, Pinot noir, Cabernet, Italian riesling, Pino blanc, Hungarian Ezerjo. Next stop will be one of the most famous region’s wineries ’’Zvonko Bogdan“. Free time until departure for Belgrade. Overnight.

6. day BELGRADE – MONASTERY RAVANICA – MONASTERY MANASIJA – WATEFALL VELIKI BUK – KLADOVO

Breakfast at hotel. Leaving the rooms and checking out from hotel. Departure on a trip to monasteries Manasija and Ravanica. Driving to monastery Manasija also known as Resava – one of the last monuments to Serbian mediaeval culture. The church was founded by Despot Stefan Lazarevich, son of Prince Lazar, between 1406 and 1418. The church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity. It is one of the most significant monuments of medieval Serbian culture and it belongs to the “Morava school”. Manasija complex was declared Monument of Culture of Exceptional Importance in 1979, and it is protected by Republic of Serbia, and monastery have entered a UNESCO Tentative List Process. Next vist will be monastery Ravanica. The Ravanica church is the first monument of the Morava school of the Serbian medieval art. It was built in 1375–1377 as an endowment of prince Lazar of Serbia, who is buried there. Last stop will be waterfall Veliki Buk. The waterfall is over 20 meters high and is considered to be among the highest in Serbia. It’s strongest in the spring, because it carries the most water in that period. It’s most refreshing during the summer heat and it is most beautiful in the autumn. Evening departure to Kladovo. Accommodation in the hotel. Overnight.

7. day KLADOVO – GOLUBAC –  SMEDEREVO – BELGRADE

Breakfast at hotel. Leaving the rooms and checking out from hotel. Departure to Golubac. Golubac Fortress – it was built from stone on the location of former Roman fortification and had been for centuries the place that controlled the Djerdap canyon. National park Djerdap is the region where Danube’s flow created the greatest river canyon in Europe 98 km long. Departure from Golubac to Smederevo – the medieval fortified city and temporary capital of Serbia in the Middle Ages. Sightseeing of Smederevo fortress, the largest medieval lowland type of fortresses in Europe. Free time until departure for Belgrade.  Accommodation in the hotel. Overnight.

8. day BEOGRAD…

Breakfast at hotel. Leaving the rooms and checking out from hotel. Free time until transfer to the airport ’’Nikola Tesla’’. (End of program)
